Luma | Interactive Home Projector

THE CHALLENGE
A client with a novel interactive projector technology needed to integrate it into a practical, user-friendly solution for the home. The challenge was to define a product architecture that could house the complex, existing tech while feeling natural in a home setting.

MY CONTRIBUTION
As the mechanical engineer, my role was to own the physical translation from raw technology to a refined product. I began by assessing the client's core tech and exploring various mechanical architectures. I then led the detailed 3D CAD design, meticulously packaging the core components, PCBs, and optical system into a chosen form. Finally, I brought the 3D model to life by building a fully functional, hands-on prototype that integrated all the technology.

THE OUTCOME
The result was a successful, fully functional prototype that proved the viability of the design. We successfully incorporated the client's complex technology into a practical and elegant home solution, ready for the next stage of development.
