THE CHALLENGE
This project was the 2,5-year journey that formed my professional philosophy, bridging the gap between my engineering background and my passion for design. It was born from my engineering thesis with a simple premise: a bicycle is a decorative object. The challenge was to design and handcraft a family of furniture that celebrated the bike, solving complex stability and storage problems with beautiful, non-obvious solutions.

MY CONTRIBUTION
As the founder, I led the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to branding and small-batch production. This was a hands-on project that involved:

Inventing a Novel Mechanism (Cavalletta): Designing a floor-to-ceiling stand based on my engineering thesis. It uses a pedal-activated lever and bicycle quick-releases to create a stable, drill-free solution.

Mastering a Process (Pettirosso): Developing a complex 30-hour, multi-stage process for moulding wood veneers, iterating through five custom moulds based on user feedback to create a "floating" wall mount.

Integrating Technologies (Lucciola): Building a 3D printer from scratch to manufacture custom parts for a lamp that blended traditional wood, bicycle components, and modern rapid prototyping.

THE OUTCOME
I successfully launched a brand and a family of three distinct, commercially-sold products. This experience was the catalyst for my move to Italy to pursue a Master's in Design & Engineering, and it remains the foundation of my belief in a process that is as technical as it is creative.
