GE Healthcare | Future of Ultrasound Platforms

THE CHALLENGE
To explore and define the future of a client's key ultrasound platforms, including a portable laptop-style device and a modular cart-based system. The goal was to innovate on ergonomics, portability, and modularity to meet the needs of future users and new clinical markets.

MY CONTRIBUTION
I helped translate the extensive user research into tangible product architectures. My focus was on Design for Manufacturability (DFM), optimizing the new modular hardware concepts for production. Critically, I managed all technical documentation and iterative design changes to ensure the proposed solutions were fully compliant with MedTech standards (ISO 13485).

THE OUTCOME
We delivered a set of validated, next-generation concepts for both the portable and cart-based platforms, providing the client with a clear, manufacturable, and compliant path forward for their future product lines.
